Owl Project collaboration...
Latest news on the latest project, Flow; A floating millhouse alongside the water-wheel will contain a range of sensors, combining traditional and new technologies to monitor key environmental details, including water temperature and speed, salinity, and pollution. FLOW is in effect a musical instrument, powered by the tidal river and manipulated by the audience. http://owlproject.com/flow

Pond Life micro projector – 2010 Hackteria version
DIY Micro aquarium / terrarium to simulate, manipulate and observe freshwater aquatic microenvironments [such as those associated with mosses and temporary ponds with inline optical interface.

Throughout my practice I have been interested in creating small controlled environments that need to be sustained nurtured and maintained. A repeating element is the droplet, or globule. A self-contained unit of liquid mass supported by means of its own surface tension; the strong attraction between molecules to like molecules.

Radar, residency project 2009
Loughborough University’s contemporary arts programme. The catalyst for each season is a particular area of research or inquiry that is current and is being investigated by both artists and academics. Once identified, the themes act as a platform from which the issues and ideas can be explored via a programme of performances, exhibitions, talks and symposia, providing audiences with a range of opportunities to engage with the concepts. http://arts.lboro.ac.uk

Biorama 2 -
University of Huddersfield and the Devil's Arse, Castleton, Hope Valley, Derbyshire S33 8WS
Workshops: June 24th and 26th, University of Huddersfield.

Biorama2 will explore the biology of the underground through the notion of 'umwelt' developed by Jakob von Uexküll (1864 – 1944) and its influence on the development of biosemiotics by Thomas Sebeok (1920 – 2001). Using the underground of caves and mines and the organic life they contain as a form of parallel terrestrial biology, we develop a 'parallel science' through the study of extreme and/or 'removed lifeforms' and through the science of astrobiology. Biorama II will explore a rich contextual and conceptual background against which to investigate some of the outer (or inner) limits of terrestrial biology and strategies for life…

Amplitude modulation Feb 27th 2009

During the workshop participants will investigate the use of solar cells and other light sensitive components to generate sound from light, use lasers and LEDs to transmit sounds, use liquid droplets to create sensitive microphones and use liquids dynamic physical oscillators [chemical oscillation and cymatics]. http://www.1010.co.uk/org/workshop.html

Can artists work with animals as equals? It has recently been discovered that humans are closer to the higher primates than was previously thought. This exhibition, organised by The Arts Catalyst on the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth brings together a group of artists who actively question the sovereignty of the human species over the all other animal species. Electromagnetic fields are biologically active. Emitting from every electronic device, electromagnetic fields affect our body and the living nature. They interact with the natural emissions and intersect the boundaries of our planet. Invisible and omnipresent, electromagnetic fields have become ghosts of the modern world... http://rixc.lv/08/

Sonic Streams - research the impact of sound on the human body.
Participants have researched the effect of sound on the human body and the environments they inhabit, they have explored sound as a tool for health and healthy environments. The have developed ideas and sound work that could be potentially used as therapeutic tools and installed to create healthy sonic environments, which can be listen to and view on their research journals.
